JSW Steel to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in Odisha with industrialist Sajjan Jindal

JSW Steel plans to invest about Rs 1 lakh crore in the state in the next 10 years, said its chairman Sajjan Jindal.

After a video conference with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today, he said construction of the company's steel project in the state was set to begin soon. Meanwhile, the company has begun excavating its mines. In addition, the company is going to launch a Center for Development Studies in collaboration with Sambalpur IIM.

The state government attaches great importance to this steel project. Therefore, the Chief Minister has asked Mr. Jindal to start construction on it as soon as possible. He said the best value of the resources available in Odisha would be to create more employment opportunities.
JSW Steel is constructing a 13.2 million tonne steel project near Paradip in Odisha. The company has won four mines in the state government auction last February.
